Do Christians actually not understand?

no one will listen to a conversion hate speech. I'm a Christian and I won't listen to it. Some Christians believe it's their duty to share those things to the world. Jesus never said that. In fact, Jesus never mentioned the hell most people think about. He used the word "gahenna" which was a literal fire filled trash pit that smelled awful. It was a figurative use of speech. The other uses were "hades" which is almost identical to the Old Testament word "sheol" (badly translated hell by the King James Bible) which was the grave or a waiting place after death. In other words, many christians are not educated nor do they listen to us who actually know the history of when the Bible was written and why it was written. It's quite unfortunate
