Does it seem like Law Enforcement Officers are stepping over the line more lately?

I mean the past few months there isn't a morning that I don't wake up and hear 3 or 4 stories about an officer or more beating an un-armed/subdued civilian, children/elderly people shot with taser's, and Law Enforcement Officers arresting people for filming them. Reporters in general seem to be being cracked down on. Above all else what I am worried about and what I am seeing is in America there seems to be this growing "Us vs Them" mentality with regards to civilians vs law enforcement. So what's going on?
